I'm an art historian. Ntamayo did excellent detective work, and I agree with that ID. The small signature does seem to be Fairburn.

Such artwork is usually purchased by the design contractor who does all the furniture, carpet, etc. And they usually contract it out to some other person. So the hotel would have to access records from initial construction or most recent renovation (if the art was changed at that time). Then you'd have to contact THAT company, and get them to look in THEIR records.

I always tell art students, "Sign your damn work!" This is why. : )

Incidentally, about 20 years ago I checked into the Renaissance in DC and realized that the art behind the front desk was done by a close friend of mine!
