I concur. Last year I walked in and luckily got a table at Ebbelwoi Unser. It was excellent. Don't try to repeat what you can do in Munich. It's Frankfurt. Do Frankfurter things.

Everytime I go go Frankfurt I stay one night before I head out to the rest of the country for Bundesliga matches. I try to stay at the airport Moxy in Gateway Gardens. Super convenient and comparatively cheap. There's a Rewe right next door. The S-Bahn station is a block away. Gateway Gardens feels safer than near the Hbf.

If you're looking for a beer experience outside Munich, I recommend heading to Bamberg. The beer halls are abundant and they are famous for their smoked beers. It's a longish train ride from Frankfurt, especially if you do what I did and booked the slowest regional train, but it's well worth the effort.
