IMO, If they're on a budget and/or inquisitive, CitizenM would be fine and if they want more space or don't want to experiment with the funkiness, the Sheraton or Hilton is their best bet.
meh. I lived in AMS for 2 years. Unless Yotel, leaving terminal and clearing security sucks regardless of where you sleep.

but if they’ve never been to AMS - and I’ve regretted not going into many cities when marooned at airports - this is a missed opp. AMS is a hoot.
