Back when they had a lounge, it was a fairly meagre offering. I do not think there was much risk of it cannabilizing a lot of F&B revenue.
I think its more a case that the marginal extra cost to give Globs access to the restaurant buffet is no more than the cost of staffing and operating the lounge. By not having a lounge it also frees up a new space that can be used for other purposes
Yeah I went when the lounge had just opened and it was very meagre. My comment was suggesting if they really tried to make it a worthwhile lounge (one that people would actually pay to use) then it would cannibalize the other restaurant options.
