No one knows with certainty. They’re unpublished criteria. A form rejection letter from years ago doesn’t tell us much. It’s all speculation. Personally I’ve always been skeptical that, say, an 016 round-trip IAH-FRA-IAH full J itinerary purchased on UA metal two months in advance, that gets swapped out last-minute on the return to LH metal, gets selectively excluded from GS qualification. Maybe it does. But no one knows.
