I'm looking for help booking a long trip to four Asian destinations, but am unsure what leg(s) would be best left out to give us the best bang for our buck open-jaw wise. We have two possible routes:

Option 1
ORD-PEK
PEK-HKG
HKG-PVG
PVG-HND or NRT
HND/NRT-ORD

Option 2
ORD-PEK
PEK-PVG
PVG-HKG
HKG-HND or NRT
HND/NRT-ORD

Option 2 looks more efficient to me, assuming you have a PRC visa. I'll also point out that you can use SHA (instead of PVG) to/from BJS (PEK and PKX), HKG, and HND. This usually saves a lot of time.
