No. Although I have never upgraded an xonex to a higher xonex, my understanding of the process is you are paying for the higher class xonex with the amount paid for partially flown lower class xonex applied as a credit; you will only have the unused segments of the lower class xonex available to use with the higher class xonex. For example, if you buy an LONE4 and after flying 4 segments you decide you want to turn it into an DONE4, the price you paid for the LONE4 is applied as a credit to the cost of the DONE4 (the price of the DONE4 will be based upon your point of origin of the LONE4) and you will have 12 segments of the DONE4 left. The segments you have flown already are already used no additional credit is available.
