Very interesting. This plane has been at YYZ for a day now; they must surely have a big backlog on the maintenance delay then.
Scheduled maintenance implies that it's within AC's control... should be eligible for compensation under APPR, correct?
There may be other reasons that the flight was cancelled. Perhaps the delayed scheduled maintenance uncovered something unscheduled that needed to be addressed for safety reasons.
But worth trying.
