Looks like the miles are available to deposit into accounts now. I just got the following email:

Each traveler must accept miles using their own MileagePlus account. You can create accounts for other members of your family, such as young children who were traveling with you. Otherwise, each traveler on your reservation should visit united.com/30k and sign in to their account or sign up for MileagePlus.
