first time on this board so here goes

I am currently an AA Gold member and have 57 segments for 2004.

My question is...

Is it worth it to fly 3 segments before the end of the year to obtain the Platinum status with AA advantage?

I found 3 segments

Palm Beach > Boston
Boston > New York
New York > PBI

total cost $770

Should I do it? Will the holiday traffic make it impossible?
