In Q4 I will be doing the reverse on the high speed train (Casablanca to Tangier). Please give a brief report on the train ride. I understand it is in fact a GTV.
Safe travel!
Re the train ride
Yes, the Tangier to Casablanca train is a TGV (Train a Grande Vitesse)
Well it is a TGV from Tangier to Kenitra – the display showed the speed mostly varying between 280-300kph, and I noticed a peak of 319kph.
Between Kenitra and Rabat it is merely a T, moving much more slowly.
And then between Rabat and Casablanca it is a TV, moving at between 140 and 150 kph.
2nd Class is very comfortable, everybody has a seat. Total journey time 2h10m. And it keeps closely to its timetable.
Change at Casablanca for the 30min local train out to the airport.
The 2nd class ticket cost MAD274 (~USD28): Tangier-Casablanca-CMN
