Another possibility being that they are confident about their capability to deal with this. While their tools actually largely implementing wishful thinking?
Never underestimate their capability of doing stupid or amateurish things. :-)
For most rational folks the benefits to the bottom line of an efficient, reliable booking tool are obvious. But seemingly not to them.
(Incidentally, my feeling is that part of the current issues might be related to their link to Amadeus having insufficient bandwith. But eh, presumably that's expensive. :-) Penny wise pound foolish has applied to them as long as I can remember. Buying the max was one good example.
The number of times I've tried to give AC money but wasn't able to is astounding. And not something I can recall happening with any other business, in any industry. If they can't get something this basic right, I'm not sure I trust them to get anything else right (other than safely operating aircraft).
