look, I'm a huge Delta fan but their service on these transcons seems to fail in comparison to UA, AA, B6 and I don't know how they're continuing to sell so many tickets on this route with such an uncompetitive offering.
Then again, I've not flown an ex-NYC/BOS transcon to experience this.
Yes, I think you're right. I took some photos of the stains on the seat in case I decided to write to Delta. I am not a particularly picky person and try to be understanding that sometimes things fall through the cracks, service-wise but I was really floored at how filthy my seat was and then how bad the overall experience was.
I did fill out their survey and essentially said that unless something changes, I no longer regard domestic D1 as worth my money. I think it might even be worse than during the pandemic, I had a couple of wonderful D1 flights from SEA-JFK during that time (although the A330-900 NEO certainly helped the overall experience there).
