In my experience, I haven't seen menu's on a domestic D1 flight since pre-covid. Options are verbally spoken nowadays. There are supposed to be 3 options (5 if pre-ordering); although one choice may have ran out depending on where you are sitting in the cabin. Which would make sense, to explain why you were only offered two choices.
Can't speak on the wine, but one white & red sounds about right. Service has been pared down compared to what it use to be in the past.
The menus I figured were no longer around. I did fly D1 to London this year and I’m pretty sure there were menus so I guess this is a D1 domestic thing.
The two food choices is odd. I had a crazy hectic week and forgot to pre order like I usually do but I was the 2nd person to be asked for their food order so it seemed a little baffling that they could have run out of something. I didn’t see anyone near me eating anything other than the two dishes the FA mentioned but who knows. I think maybe between this and the fact that the crew seemed to have no idea what they were serving, it probably added to the impression that the experience was even more degraded than usual.
To add to that, there was almost no service after dinner until shortly before landing. Bit of a perfect storm I guess, in terms of things not being right.
