I would call it more like an "acceptable" or "lucky" solution rather than "good compromise" .

Finnair still didn't send me their written change rules. Essentially their response is - we have no written rules on fare difference, if you want to know, call us and we'll tell you... We'll tell you how much more you have to pay than the difference you see...
