What I did on shorter layovers where getting a rental car and driving to Grapevine Lake for some running around the north shore trail with the dog wasn't possible or cost-prohibitive with the prices for rental cars post-2021: Took the shuttle bus to the rental car facility and took the dog for a run around the forested area around the reservoir across the highway from the rental car center, followed by a shower in the lounge.
edit: I miss the A AC's showers, too. These were the best. Worth the trek over from D (where 99% of my flights arrived departed from). Now, not anymore.
