Folks on Reddit are reporting that they received 2 suite upgrade awards in their account today after achieving Globalist from this challenge. And they hadn’t yet come close to reaching the 50 night threshold. Is this the case? I wasn’t aware that was part of the reward.
I’m already a long-time Glob but will be passing this news on to a few of my friends who are doing the challenge if it is the case. A nice unexpected bonus!
As a side note, I’ve suddenly gone from being friends with one other Globalist in real life to knowing more than 10(!) in the past month thanks to this challenge. All in their 20s and early 30s. It’s pretty cool to see Hyatt bringing more folks into the fold haha.
There's an old saying about people finding what they want to find and not finding what they don't want to find. Also, people tend to cluster around other people who behave sort of like themselves or are in similar circumstances.
Can't say I've noticed any skyrocketing number of Globalists around me from this promo, but my travel party members' upgrade rates aren't down (yet). If anything, I'd guess Hyatt probably still has a need to replace and replenish the Globalist rank and file with a younger crowd in this age where loyalty to boring old big brands is not really all that in fashion and the business travel patterns/demographics aren't what they used to be before the pandemic.
My guess is that the proportion of Bilt promo users who have done 20 nights for Globalist since April 17th is far from a majority of the Bilt promo users.
