Book the outbound online the second the seats are released. Call when the return is released, again be in the call minutes before release, the agent will secure the seats, apply the voucher and take half the required Avios.

If you are Avios rich, you can book the return online using full Avios, then call the next morning to get half back and apply the voucher.
thank you that makes sense. Sadly not Avios rich and these Florida flights use a lot of Avios. Currently have 85k and should have 100k+ by the time I come to book.

I’ll book outbound online and call them for inbound. Just need to find a phone number that’s cheaper as I got a massive £40 bill from O2 for calling the US number
