For Iberia, how would they know my oneworld status? I've just registered on their website and haven't joined their program - I just gave my BA EC number on the booking that I made.
With avios the balance can be seen in both BA & QR freq flyer programs. The common avois ff currency can be moved from 1 to the other.
Status with each airline is separate and not transferable between the ffps. Can have different status with airlines at the same time. Like QR OWR and BA OWE. Can only get the benefit of
that status when
that freq flyer number is in the reservation. QR status benefits apply in a IB reservation that has your QR ffn entered.
Sometimes showing a physical ff card can get a benefit, like lounge access/extra baggage when the other ffn is in the reservation, but not guaranteed.
You need to decide on QR Privileges or BAEC as the main ffp to get and maintain status. Or if you fly a lot you can get mid-top status with both.
