Every night since the VS21 started leaving LHR at 1905 it’s landed at IAD and parked up at this exact remote stand at the south end of the central apron, quite some way away from the main building. Is this a good or bad thing when it comes to a swift arrival and immigration procedure?

We got off that flight earlier this week from the remote stand. They drive the "Mobile Lounges" to the plane and load passengers on directly from the aircraft. The Mobile Lounges then drive you to the IAD international arrivals center for passport control and customs.
I'd say it takes a bit longer than arriving at a gate and then getting on the Mobile Lounges to International Arrivals, but not substantially more time.
