Are there options for unlimited local rail day trips (a Bayern ticket, I think)? Taking the train up and down the Rhine, stopping at little towns in between the main cities was something I did a while ago. Strolling along the river, having a beer in a local place (though be prepared to have people look at you like you are lost was a fun way to spend a day.
