TSA precheck is useless in Canada. Nexus gets you to a faster security and customs line.
The last time I did an International - US transit at YYZ (pre pandemic) I used Global Entry to speed it up. Normal priority through all previous stops/checks. But by showing my GE card to the Canadian staff acting as the gatekeeper to the GE machines I was allowed to use the kiosks.
