I have often had longer stays at hotels where I'm gone for days or weeks (or even longer) at a time. If explaining to hotel management that I'm still using the rooms and have stuff stored in there or am using it as a day office or a place to shower up daily, they leave it as is. If not wanting to explain the situation to hotel employees, a more local acquaintance may keep my room keys or a duplicate and stop by to use rooms as convenient and enjoy the bed for lunchtime naps or just to have a fresh toilet. I've never known of the police called in either of these situations for my bookings or that of others whom I've seen do this too. The checkout and emptying of the room can also be done without the checked-in primary guest showing up at the end.

Well, I'm currently an Explorist and earlier today I looked at my booking and was upgraded from a regular king room to a park view room. And just now I looked again and they upgraded me to a King Room Club Access. So, in addition to the $100.00 food credit, I'll get complimentary breakfast/afternoon tea snacks/dinner and adult beverages in the lounge too! Wow what a surprise!

Looking forward to my other stays to see if I get an upgrade similar to this one
While the Amex FHR rates should post as Hyatt eligible status nights for this, if booking the non-FHR Amex rates, then there may be more issues with getting status night credit. Either type of rate, make sure to keep track on how those nights post to your account as it would not be welcome if unexpectedly falling a couple of nights short of meeting the 20 night requirement.
