I think the criticism is not that he stays at a chain hotel - its that once there, he does not leave. And like poster above said, its been cringe when he does.
So whether its Hyatt Erbil or Hyatt Tampa doesnt really matter. Whatever, there clearly is an audience for endless pictures of hotel light switches around the world, and pics of menus where fries cost more than a weekly wage, it sells credit cards, and virtuoso referrals, so good on him for capitalizing.

But he is not a travel blogger.
