The destinations, their sites, culture, people, and history are mostly irrelevant to him and his blog. And its often cringy when he does bring them up.
I wouldn't say they are 'mostly irrelevant' to him, it seems like he does do things at the destinations sometimes. The problem is that he has templates for hotel, lounge, inflight and aircraft cabin reviews which work pretty well. Creative writing about experiences outside these topics is not really his forte and probably bring in no revenue, so an effort is not even made to venture into this sphere.
