We are on YQR-YYZ-FRA on an LH ticket on Thursday. There is currently a weather warning for YQR for Wed and Thursday, though the warning is super uncertain: we will either get the snow storm of the century or it’ll just rain.

If AC issues a weather waiver, this should cover us given that the first leg is on AC? If it looks bad for Thursday I would be trying to get to YYZ Tuesday or Wednesday if there’s a waiver. I know in an irops situation that the operating carrier is responsible for rebooking, but I am not clear on whether or not a weather waver is considered an irregular operation or not or if you have to wait for the actual cancelation to occur.

LH has been terrible to deal with (there were a few sched changes with this booking and the call centre is grim) so I would prefer to deal with AC as much as possible. We are ok with spending a day or two in Toronto if need be if it means we will get to FRA (and onward) as planned but a delay in getting to the destination will likely mean we will reschedule to later in the year.

Thoughts? Thanks.
