Perhaps your connection issue in YUL will be a bit more tolerable since you will be entitled to 600EUR a person from AC for EC261 compensation?

Be sure to remind others on your flight of this I got a huge thank you from a relative's tour group leader that got compensation checks for all 40 people in her group from FCO-YYZ a few years back. They hasn't been aware of the compensation and the airport agents never put out the compensation pamphlets.
