Hyatt definitely shifted me.
Before having a viable path to Globalist we’d stay at a hotel less than 5 nights a year. We would Airbnb maybe 5 nights a year so under 10 nights annually. That entirely shifted once a path to Globalist opened up. For us it was something that encouraged us to travel, to visit new cities and experience everything at the highest level. For someone who’s never had Elite Status or traveled much Globalist is absolutely amazing, life changing even.
While having Globalist I’ve also had Hilton Diamond and IHG’s Spire Elite just due to differences in pricing (cash or points) in certain areas or unavailable Hyatt properties. In having these other Elite statuses they just fall miles short in comparison, and that’s why we strive to requalify every year.
I completely know and understand that our situation is fairly unique though. YMMV
