BCN is okay as an airport, but your "local" carrier is an LCC so unless you are okay with that you're dependent on everyone else who flies in there to get you where you want to go. In or out of BCN I've ended up flying on AC, UA, LH, LX, SQ, AF and VY over the years - almost certainly the airport where I have flows the most carriers in/out of!
