Yeah that’s not worth it imho. Prices are some of the most expensive I have seen for Japan this year. I was £1200 for flights in September with Emirates from UK via Dubai.
I was delighted to get Premium Economy with ANA from Zurich via Munich, Frankfurt on the way back, with short connections for CHF1400 (about 1250 quid). Exact same flights now are CHF5000
You can get other connections for a bit less of course, I normally never get flights this early but seems to be the way forward these days
