I only get to BOS maybe once a year anymore, but it isn't even a place that would be on my radar screen to go to eat. I've heard about Pescador, in Kenmore Square, any insights into it? My usual go to's are,
Island Creek for finer dining, Neptune Oyster for great casual seafood, James Hook for a lobster roll. For clams specifically, a drive up to Essex or Gloucester.
I found it tolerable 20 years ago, but really it’s been over 40 years, when its original Inman Square, Cambridge location burned down, since it was really special.
FWIW, I was never a huge fan of Island Creek — clearly I was in the minority — but they’ve closed. I haven’t been, but I’ve heard that Ostra now is the place to go for an elegant seafood dinner. I, too, love going to Essex for clams. Farnham’s is my location of choice. I was last there in October, and even though it’s the off season I thought it was great.
