u. If it gets close to August with no change, you may want to call CBP and ask about whether your GE will expire if you don't renew it and stick with the NEXUS application. As they are separate programs I'd expect it will expire.
There’s no need to call CBP about that, if you don’t renew before your expiration date your GE will expire. You can have simultaneous apps so at that point you just hope that your nexus gets approved before your GE does. I would wait until the last possible date to renew GE as a result.
