Yup, and at some point I thought UA recently allowed it as well. That's why I wondered about whether DL allowed it.

Safest bet would be either 24 hr cancellation or book a refundable ticket.
Perhaps my safest option is to just pay for a refundable ticket and cancel once I am done with everything.
