I am hit by so many mess ups with the Hilton F&B credit for Golds/Diamonds that I avoid Hiltons whenever it’s convenient for me to do so just because of that. I have no such strong feelings about IHG, other than IHG have not disappointed me as much. But with IHG, I tend to go in with low expectations. I’m now IHG Diamond but haven’t used IHG properties since I was Gold Ambassador a few years back. I will likely be moving more stays away from Hilton and to IHG than from IHG to Hilton.

Given my non-US travel works pretty well with IHG, I am going to reduce my use of Hilton Honors.
