Last month, I posted in BA forum about trying to maintain my silver status(link below). WIth the help of folks, I have 7 flights on AA before silver expires and with the tier points I will retain status. However, I chatted with AA agent asking to add my BA # to the reservation, he told me that I could NOT collect BA points because it isn't a code share flight.

I recall once asking the lounge agent to assist and he was able to do it so i collected BA instead of AA on AA filght. Should I try to do it at the airport or after I've flown? I leave on Thurs. I assume once I add BA # to reservation (assuming I am able) that will remove any possible upgrade options under my AA membership - small price to pay if I can fly earning BA to maintain my status!
