Made a Lat reward booking last night for Ms. Boh. The flight was R5, I requested an upgrade (she is my nominee) and was waitlisted. I tried cancelling / re-requesting the upgrade, but still said waitlisted. Left it to this morning when I called in.
The CSR in Rez I spoke to said that I had to wait until my e-up window was open. I politely suggested that was not the case, at which point she said that she would talk to the Resoruce Centre. Alter 30ish minutes on the hold the call dropped. Bummer.
So, after checking to make sure that the points required had not gone up, I cancelled, rebooked and the upgrade cleared immediately, as expected.
Not sure what was going on but was amazed that there's still call centre staff who don't understand how Latitude fares work. To misquote Ricky, I guess this a different kind of "Latitude Attitude".
