Taxes & fees on LH-group tickets booked with OZ miles are beyond absurd. TATL flights were charging $1k+ on a single ticket, even in Y, when I checked last year (back when I actually could check online). But booking OZ flights are not much better. They wanted $850 for a flight from LAX-ICN in Y, on top of the points. There was zero availability on any date for LAX flights in J. Safe to say that airline miles are completely worthless right now, at least for booking a flight. I was finally able to unload my remaining NH miles on a hotel booking last year, and I hope I will be able to do the same with my OZ miles, as it is painfully obvious I will never be able to use them on airfare. I was fortunate in being able to book LAX-DBV in J on TK for 80k OZ miles in 2020, but that was only because of COVID.
