To recap: DL rebooked me on AA. SC agent said I wouldn't earn Skymiles if changing the FF# to AA. Went for it anyway.

To my big surprise, I received mileage credit with both DL and AA. No intervention from my side necessary. AA miles posted right away, DL miles around 10-14 days later.
