SQ is a freq flyer partner of UA & AS..

If you credit SQ flights to SQ Krisflyer ffp that will not help in getting UA status. But UA flights could be credited to SQ, but would not earn UA status/ffp's.
SQ & UA are both Star Alliance. Having status in 2 airlines in the same alliance often not that useful unless fly both airline a lot. High status in 1 airline ffp is usually better that low status in 2 (alliance) airlines.
Having status in 2 alliances (Star, OW, Skyteam) can be useful.
Generally better to have status/ff miles in the airline you fly most. Or an airline ffp of you home country, due to ease of getting ff miles from non flying activities. Many ffp's are morphing to frequent spender programs.
What does status do for you? Use the ff miles?
