So it seems like the timeline went something like this:
Male passenger in a drunken state allegedly pees on female passenger sitting next to him. Female passenger complains to the crew who offer her a pajama set & socks. They disinfect the peed upon area & items however refuse to clean or remove them from the seat. Crew then claims they gave the passenger another comparable seat which the passenger says turned out to be a jumpseat used by the crew. Another passenger pointed out that a seat was available in First class however the pilot refused to give that to her. The female passenger wanted to file a complaint however the crew brought over the male passenger to her against her wishes & made him apologize. In an already confused & shocked state the female passenger agrees not to press charges & the 2 passengers exchange phone numbers regarding compensation. AI believes it has done enough & considers the matter closed.
Over the next couple of days the 2 passengers exchange multiple messages regarding the amount that needs to be paid for cleaning of the clothes & items that were peed upon. The male passenger transfers INR 15,000 via Paytm to the female passenger.
The female passengers asks AI for a refund which AI initially seemed to have approved however the passenger claims that only a partial amount was refunded to her. Based on this action the female passenger decides to go ahead with her complaint against both AI & the male passenger.
Apparently multiple hearings take place in the month of December within AI to resolve the matter but the female passenger, unhappy with the response, decides to go ahead with the complaint.
Somewhere in between all this, the daughter of the female passenger returns the INR 15,000 to the male passenger claiming that they never asked for any money to be paid to them.
FIR is registered in Delhi & the matter comes to light whereby the media, calling this incident 'Peegate', decide to hold the male passenger guilty which leads to his company terminating his services & him going on the run. He starts communicating with the media & police through his lawyers & father. The former claims that the peeing incident took place but the issue had been resolved between the parties & adequate agreed upon compensation was paid. The later says there was no peeing incident & his son is being framed.
Male passenger is arrested last evening in Bengaluru & brought back to Delhi. He was presented before a Magistrate today who has sent him to 14 days judicial custody.
