Delta and Eastern used to have L1011s at LGA regularly (primarily for Florida and ATL), and American often had DC10s as well (mostly to DFW).
AA used to fly DC-10s from LGA to BOS, BUF, ORD, and YYZ too.
AA, which was the launch customer for the DC-10, required that the plane be capable of operating in and out of LGA, which had (relatively) short runways.
