Does anyone of you have any reliable information on how AirAsia actually handles the carry-on rules these days? I'm flying SUB-LOP tomorrow, booked an extra 2x 7kg, plus the Premium Flex tariff, which includes a 20kg checked back anyway (that I don't need and really don't want to check). Should/can I risk going to the gate even though the bag + backpack weigh >7kg each (actually like you did Fyd?)
Background: I have a lot of expensive technics with me and I want to avoid having to check it at all costs. If necessary, is there a possibility at the gate to pay again or even more for additional hand luggage or what is the procedure here?
Thank you!
I have been flying them for a number of time these past two months and I would not trust them not to charge you. That said they have not weighed my hand luggage either. You can pre pay for extra hand luggage too. Just as you would pay for your luggage. They always let me take my laptop bag too plus the 7kg hand luggage.
