Used KVS a few years ago and it usually worked quite well, error codes listed on site and usually able to self fix it. Fast forward a few years later and now without knowing all this drama I went ahead and bought a platinum since that is needed to check CX awards. Please also note that the Temporary Registration Code that you have received will always continue to work until you receive your Permanent Credentials (regardless of the expiration date shown in the e-mail).
