Agree with your overall sentiments, but greatly prefer the ERJ145 over the CR2. The entire "A" row as singles with no one beside you, especially the exit row, is a much better experience than the CRAMPED 2x2 on the devil's chariot.
Fair point. 18A was actually a palatable seat on the 145 for a <2hr trip. 1A wasn't horrible either, and for some reason I felt 6A had more padding than the other seats (possibly because it was strangely grey as opposed to blue in color). Probably just my PTSD of Commutair, and the old A terminal at EWR.
