I guess the wildcard will be baggage claim after customs. Coming back through MIA a couple weeks ago, it took over 30 minutes to get our bags at customs, then a HUGE line for security afterwards - no PreCheck option.
YYC has Pre-Clearance so you will clear immigration and customs before the YYC-DFW flight. You'll land in DFW like any other domestic flight, get off the plane and walk to the next gate, so 1 hour is no problem.
