That could be true if you just randomly show up for a purchase. But, I was in touch with a regional manager and the store manager and they found the one I wanted and hand delivered it to me at my hotel. If they want to sell you one they will find it and hold it for you.
All I'm saying is that I'm sitting living here in Amsterdam (with a local store) and within a 3 hours train ride of Cologne (the home of Rimowa), Paris and Brussels and none of the local stores can get the core items I am interested in for at least 2 weeks. London has some limited stock (but pricing is better here on the continent).
