ExpertFlyer will let you search in 6 day blocks for sAAver award availability. But it is a $10/month subscription. I find it incredibly useful, but more for the alerting feature to let me know when specific flights open up availability.
The only useful way I know of to use aa.com to search for sAAver inventory is to use the calendar feature after you've selected your city pairs and date. I usually do it in one way segments since that's how they're priced anyway.
