How about this; when travelling solo, sitting in an exit aisle seat and the bell dings, I stand up and get my bag out of the overhead. If the aisle ahead of me is empty as multiple rows still haven't even stood up, is it bad form to start walking foward until you get to folks in the aisle?
If you do that, you save yourself perhaps 25 seconds of waiting and announce to the others on the plane that you are an impatient d*ck. If that's OK with you, then go ahead and do it. I don't care.
