CK doesn't allow opening up award availability for companions, and that was/is a unique perk of UA GS.
CK ground service/IRROPS is amazing, but once you are inside the plane, 99% of the time, you are no different than any other customer. Once and awhile, you'll get thanks for being a "key" from the longer tenured FAs.
Go CK if you want a great ground experience at AA hubs (non hubs will be hit or miss on CK ground service/recognition). For example, never been greeted by any AA angels/CK agents at PDX. However, at LAX, its Tarmac/golf cart rides with smiling CK agents waiting for you, once you get off the jet bridge.
Based on this thread, I am just glad I chose CK vs GS for a prepaid program.
AA will open domestic saver J/F to connect to international saver J/F awards.
