I have to admit I'm still slightly confused why you did a status match if you had 0 short-term flights planned on DL. You mentioned wanting lounge access and not currently having it with FB Silver but if you're going to be FB Gold in a few weeks then you wouldn't also need DL Gold status for that purpose.

i.e. if you just want lounge access on some DL flights you /do/ have upcoming later in the year you could just put your Flying Blue number on those flights and you would be able to leverage that status.

But yes, you are correct that the MQD requirement doesn't apply as long as you have a non-US address on your SkyMiles account.

EDIT: at least, I was pretty sure that the foreign MQD waiver applied to status challenges also, but I can't actually find that explicitly spelled out on the DL site https://www.delta.com/us/en/skymiles...atch-challenge

I also thought we had some DPs in the main thread: Delta Air Lines Elite Status Match Challenge : The Definitive Thread

but didn't find any on a quick search.

Ah thanks, that's very informative.

I have contemplated whether applying for it or not but I just thought why not, I guess there is no harm in trying. KLM so far is the only one that fully recognises ITA Volare. I will be getting FB Gold in mid November and I do have DL flights next week (MIA-LHR) and I would like to try out DL's Sky Club and it's in case DL agents won't let me in with my ITA Volare. DL is slowly growing on me and that's one more reason why I want to test the waters out.
